Tour summary

Week 1

Kenya, Rift Valley scenic lookout at 8,000 feet high. Uganda Lake Victoria – Kampala the equator. Virunga Mountains - trek to Mountain Gorillas Lake

Week 2

Owen Falls Dam & Jinja on Lake Victoria Bujagali Falls on the Nile River - white water rafting. Kenya, Lake Nakuru - millions of pink flamingoes

Week 3

Lake Naivasha - hippos graze and black and white Colobus monkeys. Hell's Gate Park. Masai Mara – wildlife, the big five. Nairobi with good restaurants night out.

Week 4

Tanzaniawe arrive in Arusha. Serengeti & Ngorongoro  side trip- two nights in the parks. Dar es Salaam on the Indian Ocean

Week 5

Dar es Salaam - ferry to Zanzibar Island. South throughTanzania we pass through Mikumi Park and on to Malawi with it beautiful lake

Week 6

Lake Malawi – Kande beach resort, sandy beaches, swimming and snorkeling, water-skiing, horse riding Malawi chairs. Zambia - South Luangwa National Park

Week 7

Zambia’s capital Lusaka & Victoria Falls - Zambezi River plunges 100 metres down a mile wide chasm lots of adventure activities

Week 8

Botswana and the Kalahari Desert. Maun on the Okavango Delta, Mokoro trip in a dugout canoe through the waterways. Namibia, Kavango River on the Caprivi Strip

Week 9

Etosha Pan National Park - game viewing in the evenings by floodlit water holes. Kamanjab Cheetah Farm. Cape Cross Seal Reserve. Swakopmund seaside resort

Week 10

Namib Desert -300 metre high sand dunes. Fish River Canyon. South African border with Orange River. Stellenbosch - wine tour. Cape Town at the foot of Table Mountain.

Week 11

Leaving Cape Town we cross the Great Karoo heartland and the Orange River. The Big Hole in Kimberley to J’burg - Soweto and gold mines.
